Mullins Mechanical is a  leader in Industrial Commercial Mechanical, Plumbing, and HVAC Construction projects. Are projects are often in the Industrial & Manufacturing environments, such as: Manufacturing Facilities, Automotive Plants, Distribution Centers, etc. We are a self-performing specialty contractor specializing in Design Build Applications, HVAC Systems, Plumbing, Process Piping Systems, Boiler & Chiller Systems, Equipment Installation & Rigging, Plant Relocation & Maintenance, and Metal Fabrication. 

We are looking for an Estimator to join our team, with proven experience estimating industrial mechanical projects including millwright/rigging, process piping, utility piping, and structural steel. 

Position Overview

As an Estimator, you'll be instrumental in shaping the financial success of our construction projects. Your primary role is to perform meticulous take-offs and generate accurate material-quantities-labor estimates, which form the foundation for project financial planning. Precision and accuracy in your work are vital for project success. This position is considered a hybrid position, requiring travel to our Carrollton, GA office. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Bid Calendar Management
    • Collaborate with the Senior Estimator to maintain the bid calendar. 
    • Allocate estimating resources to each bid or project opportunity.
    • Communicate and manage bid deadlines effectively. 
  • Conceptual Estimating
    • Generate material/volume counts and quantities
    • Secure adequate subcontractor pricing coverage for all relevant trades. 
    • Organize estimates using a standard cost code structure.
    • Review and complete prequalification documents, RFI deadlines, and other bid package components with the Senior Estimator.
    • Identify value engineering opportunities.
    • Create and maintain organized Job Estimate folders in FastPipe and the cloud-based storage system.
    • Ensure estimating checklists are completed. 
    • Manage addendums effectively.
    • Archive previous estimates.
    • Send relevant project information to the CRM manager for data entry. 
  • Project Set Up/Close Out
    • Ensure the project team has all relevant estimation documents.
    • Participate in hand-off meetings with key project stakeholders
    • Attend close-out meetings with project stakeholders.
    • Maintain a historical cost record for future reference. 

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years in the industrial mechanical field as an Estimator and/or Project Manager.
  • Experience estimating projects that include millwright/rigging, process piping, utility piping, and structural steel. 
  • Proficiency in FastPipe or similar estimating software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proven track record in winning complex bid projects.
  • Strong collaboration skills with both internal and external project teams.
