We are looking for an Assistant Controller with proven leadership skills to join our growing team.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of construction accounting processes and procedures including job cost, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and other project accounting processes and procedures.  This is a full-time position based out of our main office in Carrollton, GA.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee corporate financials by managing daily accounting activities including AP/AR transactions, payroll, general ledger account reconciliations and the monthly close process
  • Complete month-end close process, including reconciliation of all bank and credit card statements, adjustments to the General Ledger, calculation of depreciation expense, etc., in a timely manner and provide financial reports to the President
  • Assist in preparation of the annual operating budget and perform monthly analysis of variances and financial trends
  • Work with third-party auditors and tax advisors on annual audit and tax filings
  • Maintain a comprehensive set of internal accounting controls and operating budgets that comply with GAAP to control company cash flow, mitigate risk and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts periodically as needed
  • Monitor daily cash flow and manage the Positive Pay system with Mullins’ banking partner
  • Review aged receivables and oversee collections activities
  • Maintain fixed asset listing and calculate monthly depreciation of assets
  • Generate monthly financial reports
  • Assist with preparation of 1099 forms and reporting at year end to ensure timely distribution.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting management experience with strong and proven leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Experience in construction accounting processes and procedures, including job cost, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and other project accounting processes and procedures
  • Experience with construction accounting software and MS Office Suite
